There’s plenty to do, with fishing being the most obvious – it’s is one of the islands’ largest industries. Watersports are inevitably popular in the warm Indian Ocean, and high visibility throughout the year ensures crystal-clear water for diving and snorkelling. Some of the top attractions include Sun Island Beach, the National Museum and Hukuru Miskiiy (Old Friday Mosque), one of the oldest mosques in the Maldives, which dates back to the 12th century when Islam was first introduced to the nation.
